Herbal treatment - Herbal medicine practitioners create individualized regimens using many different substances (herb, mineral and animal) in conjunction with massage or acupuncture therapy in the treatment of many different mental and physical ailments.
Heredity - The passing down of physical characteristics, behavior, and other traits from parents to their offspring. This process occurs through the parental genes.
Hormone - A chemical substance released into the bloodstream sent with the intent to regulate the function of a target organ or tissue. A hormone (corticosteroids) acts as a chemical messenger in the body.
Hydration - The gain of water or moisture in the body by mouth or infusion.
Hydrocortisone - A mild corticosteroid often administered into lotions, ointments and creams used to treat itchy rashes and inflammatory skin conditions.
Hydroxyurea - An anti-cancer drug that is sometimes used as a treatment for psoriasis. Hydroxyurea helps to slow down the rapid rate at which new cells are produced.
